Editorial Shoot for MSD Magazine

There’s always a certain thrill when the phone rings and it’s a magazine on the other end. This time, I was delighted to hear from MSD Magazine in the Netherlands, asking me to photograph Philip for a corporate editorial feature. Opportunities like this make me grateful for my work as a portrait photographer—it’s about more than just capturing an image; it’s about telling a story and making a connection.

The shoot day wasn’t without its challenges, as the unpredictable weather had us waiting for the rain to pass before we could begin. We’re all familiar with it in London, so it felt like home in many ways! Thankfully, once the skies cleared, we were treated to the most beautiful light—the kind you only get after a fresh rain. It brought a softness to the atmosphere that was perfect for the portraits.

Philip was fantastic to work with—professional, natural, and completely at ease in front of the camera. Together, we captured a range of portraits that balanced a polished, corporate look with a genuine, approachable feel. Each shot reflects the thoughtful and modern aesthetic that MSD Magazine was looking for, and I’m thrilled with how it all came together.

To give you a little peek behind the curtain, I’ve included a behind-the-scenes image along with a few samples from the shoot. It’s always exciting to share the final product and a glimpse of the process behind creating these portraits—it’s a real team effort.

As a London-based portrait photographer, I love collaborating on projects like this, whether it’s for editorial features, corporate campaigns, or personal portraits. If you’re working on a project and would like to discuss how we can bring your ideas to life, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be more than happy to chat and see how I can help.
